I just received a new SSALT mount for my 6.8SPC from SWFA. Very nice mount for the money. I am impressed and it included the 1" inserts for it too in the price.

I have one also, Works great, Perfect fit on my AR-15.
I had regular rings before set as far foward as i could to stay on the reciever and the scope slid as far forward as i could so i could get the correct Eye Relief.
With the SSALT mount, I have it on the forward part of my reciever with the scope centered in the mount. Looks much better and cleaner with it on the rifle.
When I Upgrade to the 3-9 Supersniper I'll take out the 1" inserts.

Very similar yes. Except the SWFA mount comes with 1" inserts so it can be used with either 1" or 30mm scopes. The inserts are nice metal inserts too. They work well, I have a Bushnell 4200 3-9x in mine on my 6.8 spc AR and it is perfect.

I have used the Burris version in the 1" and 30mm (both purchased from SWFA oddly enough) and I prefer them as an AR mount. I'm sure the SSALT mount would preform equally as well. They seem to position the scope at just the right height.

Looks like a great alternative to the Burris which has had spotty availability issues to say the least. SWFA is a great company, I'll only order optics from them from now on, and the 1" inserts are a nice little addition!

Well, you guys talked me into it. I'd been looking for a mount like this for awhile now but the prices of them were abit much to say the least (yes I know you get what you pay for) but it seems by the sounds of it this is a good mount for about a third of the cost so I'm going to give it a try.
