hey guy i got a quest. i just got my sunshade in the mail yesterday but dont have a clue how to put it on the scope the threads dont match, i also noticed the shade that came whith the scope comes off and you can turn the threaded part of the objective lens, any advice would be helpfull.

Re: swfa sunshades

What brand scope and sunshade? are they the same brand? Is there some sort of adapter? I dont know either but answering these questions might help with getting replies.

Re: swfa sunshades

the scope is a swfa ss 10x42 and so is the shade i just talked to brady from swfa today he said they have been having trouble with the threads not matching but there is an adapter that will fix the problem and he is sending me one.

Re: swfa sunshades

The sunshade itself went on my 3-9x42 fine. However, the ARD was another matter. Brady told me to lube the threads and have at it, so I did. The ARD appears to have threaded on to my sunshade OK, but it was real tight. I believe if there are any issues that SWFA will replace them or assist in some other way, as I followed the direction they provided.

First DO NOT disassemble the scope by removing what you are referring to as the sunshade that came with the scope as it is a part of the scope.

If you did this and then rotated the threaded part of the objective you just messed up your scope by resetting where the parallax was supposed to be indexed. It will need to be sent to Bushnell which handles our warranty claims. Tell them what you did and ask them to reset the parallax.

If the actual "sunshade" you bought does not fit we have an adapter ring for it. There are some scopes out there with a different thread pitch but the adapter will fix it.

Re: swfa sunshades

what sort of of problem will it cause by turning the threaded part of the scope will this affect sighting in my rifle because i still have a clear sight picture.
