If you switch a gas block to prevent cycling, would that increase pressure?

My concern is if I am loading rounds that are very close to max pressure as evidenced by physical signs on the brass and I switch the block to prevent cycling could that increase the pressure?

Still waiting on my GAP-10 with the Noveske Switch Block, but this thought came to mind while working up some rounds for a bolt gun.

Thanks!

Re: Switch Block and Chamber Pressure

No. Peak pressures will occur within the first few inches of bullet travel. Gas bleed-off doesn't occur until 14" (or something like that). Either way, chamber pressures drop to about 25% by that point.

Thanks for the reply!

I wasn't sure where along the travel that the pressure peak was.

When you see flames coming from barrels it makes you wonder if the pressure is still on the rise more than a few inches down the tube or not. But what you are saying makes sense.
