I shoot a Nemesis Windrunner. I have a 308 barrel and a 243 barrel. When I switch barrels, my point of impact is about 6" low and 6"left. Its pretty consistent. Will it be more consistently accurate if I have separate scopes for each barrel, or just zero for one barrel, and adjust the scope to be on target with the other barrel. I already have a spare (similar) scope. Any consensus.

Re: switching barrels dilema

as long as it is the same everytime i wouldn't worry about it. however if you have 2 scopes and 2 sets of quick release repeatable rings why the hell not, just make sure you label them so you know which is which.

Re: switching barrels dilema

I'm confused...when you say you switch barrels and the poi shifts, do they BOTH shift the same or one shifts FROM the other? And if it is consistant, why can't you note that and mark a new zero for that barrel? Stick a tape on with your new dope for that pipe...

They better switch back and forth or he needs to stop swapping barrels now before he runs out of scope adjustment.

Checkout IOR's new 2nd zero toggle.

Enjoy.

Re: switching barrels dilema

thanks for the feedback. I'll have to look into IOR. I may try the quick release mount by LaRue. and it shifts from 1 barrel to the other. The POI's are very reproducible when I switch back to the other barrel. I just wonder how confusing the math will be when I try to adjust for distance and wind with a single scope.
