I will be getting a Savage Model 10 243AI Krieger barreled action. My question is this: The barrel is 28", can i have it taken off the savage and recut for a rem 700?

Not really. I guess if you wanted to reuse the barrel nut you could make it work but rem 700's are designed to use a larger shank barrel with a shoulder. It would have to be set back, rethreaded and the chamber recut.

I believe the OD on the Savage is Smaller than Rem700 ... i know folks have turned the 700 takeoffs down for Savages.
