Switching Handguards on RRA Elite Comp

Hi,

I have a LAR-15 RRA Elite Comp that I am planning on using for hunting and I'm trying to lighten it up so that it isn't so heavy to tote around in the field. I am swapping the stock out for a Magpul CTR stock also.

The handguard that is currently on it is

What I'm not sure on is what I could replace it with, I was thinking Magpul's MOE handguard but I'm not sure what length I would need. Would it be midlength? From what I've read it would be easier for a gunsmith to change out the handguard because of how it is attached.

Can someone help me out?

I'm looking to use a bipod still and I know the MOE handguard allows for pictinny rails to be mounted.

I would just drop on a Mid west SS v1 or v2 both are light and solid. Not to mention bot are free float unlike the MOE.

I didn't take into account that the MOE was not free floated. Currently the rifle's handguard is free floated. I didn't see those variants listed on Midwest's website, could you link me to them?

Edit: The current handguard is about 16 oz.

Found out after calling RRA that it weighs - 21.3 oz

Someone has suggested the Daniel Defense Lite rail system and to go with a full length so that I can better use my bipod.
