Developed a load and will be running out of bullets first followed by the powder for the lots that were used. What do I need to do to get it back?

-Worry about matching the velocity?
-Seat it to the same depth? Or the same jump anyways?
-Do a mini load development just .1 grain higher and lower than the current load? And then do another seating test?

I go .1 and .2 higher and lower, just to cast a wider net and make more complete decisions. Look at the velocities to see that it’s a minor change and you aren’t 100 fps slower or faster than expected. Then do a seating depth if the results aren’t what you’re after.

I run them at the same jump as the last lot. Run a mini ladder with the new powder and find what I need to match speed. Once I have that I load up 5-10 run for group and SD.

Usually works out to about the same as the last lot/load.

Depends on how different the lots are and how close you are to the lands. I’m not convinced that matching velocity will automatically restore accuracy. Hasn’t worked for me yet.

Obviously the ideal choice is to buy enough to wear the barrel out. Building a gun during Covid times hasn’t really allowed that to happen yet. Bought some 8208 and 75 ELD-m. They seem to be working well but starting development over gain once I actually can buy some bulk doesn’t sound super fun. Rather just shoot.

I doubt you notice much change at all in results with that combo. It’s what I shoot nyself, I will put a million dollar bet on it settling in nicely in the 23.6-23.8 range.
