Suppressors SWR Specwar 7.62 Vs. ThunderBeast 30p-1 (Input Wanted)

Have those in hand yet? If so, any comments on the specwar? Do you find the mount system easy to switch between your AR's? Any issues with wobble or carbon build up?
will the Specwar REALLY handle ULTRA MAG?
I called AAC about this re: titan and they said 300WM was the upper limit. Case volume 89 grains water. Since 300 RUM is 110 grains they said I need a 338 can.
IIRC, thunderbeast also said I need the 338 can for Ultra Mag. That's why I have pending both TB cans the 30 ba and the 338 ba, the latter for my 300 RUM.
I see on hte SiCo website that it says it's rated for "30 cal magnum" - but I would call them and make SURE it will handly "30 cal ULTRA magnum"
ETA: I see here http://www.silencertalk.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=127&t=104104 that the SiCo guys are giving it thumbs up for 300 RUM so I guess it's OK.

I went with the Specwar 762. Really like the QD mounting system and how quiet it is. Plus Silencerco/SWR's customer service reputation speaks for itself and I was super impressed with my Osprey 45.
Does anyone have a Specwar 762 that they're using on a 300 RUM and can you comment on sound reduction
With regard to the RUM issue, there are a couple things to take into account. The first is that 89 (or more) grains is a lot of powder (gas volume) to suppress for a can built around .308, or about 1.5 by about 9". For comparison you can make a really effective .338LM can that is about 1.75" x 10.5" or so. The difference in internal volume is relatively large. So outside of everything else when you get into an amount of powder than is close to what .338LM uses, you probably want a can about that size for good suppression levels.
The second issue is that whenever you have a cartridge that is more overbore, the pressure at the muzzle is higher. So if you designed a can for 90 grains with a .338 bullet and gave it a certain safety factor, if you were looking at 90 grains of powder and a .30 or 7mm bore, the muzzle pressure would be higher and with the same safety factor it would have to be built stronger, IE, heavier.
Our heaviest duty can right now is the 223A which was designed around extreme firing schedules on 7" M16's. Take a titanium precision rifle .223 suppressor that weighs maybe 1/3rd or 1/2 its weight and try the same thing and you'll have catastrophic failure eventually.

Guys, I'll get to this eventually. Been busy busy busy trying to get things done around the house and getting a new business off the ground. My apologies for the delays, I haven't had time to scratch my a$$, let alone do any testing!
ETA....I shot the PRS finale with the 30PS on my 6x47 and it performed really well although I have nothing to add about repeatability since once it was on, it stayed on. The Specwar is on my 7WSM at the moment using the QD muzzle brake and I haven't shot it enough to make any conclusions.

I've been back and forth between these two suppressors as well. I shoot a 300win mag, a .270, 30.06, 6.5x47, .308, and 6br. I think I have decided on the 30P-1 due to a number of factors. I am worried that I should be considering the a Thunderbeast 338P, because I do shoot my winmag a fair bit. But I think using it on my other caliber rifles wouldn't be as good as using the smaller 30P. Any comment Zac? I may end up getting the Specwar for my AR rifles.
If you shoot .300WM 90% of the time and want additional suppression, you could go 338BA. But the .30 cal cans were designed to work well with .300.
The specwar sounds awesome on everything, including 300 RUM. The specwar will handle anything 30 cal you could dream up, 30-378 weatherby, 30 snipetac, what ever. The specwar does weight 23 oz but I shot it all last year and half of this year at PRS matches and placed very well, you guys know how those matches are, off hand and tons of positional. We will have a couple new options for you this week if you are looking for lighter weight. Check out the Harvester!
Fingers crossed that the friendly guys at Silencerco will have that Saker 7.62 ready to roll at SHOT this week. The Saker 5.56 needs a big brother... hint hint SilencercoJames.

I also have been driving myself crazy trying to figure out which suppressor to get. I like the ease of putting the specwar on multiple rifles, because I am really interested in starting an SBR build in 300BLK, but the more I look, I find that I like the look of the suppressor inside the handguard. So I am looking at eventually getting the Liberty Leonidas for my 300BLK.
More importantly I need a suppressor for my semi auto 308, I like the TBAC over the Specwar because of the lighter weight, but I would like to know what kind of firing schedule it takes to get the 30-P1 up to 700-800 degrees. If it is high enough that it isn't an issue for me, the 30-P1 will be the right choice.

If you have a 30P-1 on a .308 class bolt gun, you will have to work very hard to get it even close. You won't be able to get a sight picture before then due to mirage from the barrel.
I own the 30 BA and run it on my .308, 300 BLK 9" SBR, .223 and when I rebarrel the 300 WM I'll run it on there. The can is solid. The only advantage of the specwar is the ability to do mag dumps. Let's be honest... if you have enough money to pump dollars down the barrel at 800/min, just go ahead and buy both. I had some concern in the beginning of the same thing but then thought about it for a minute. For all applications outside shooting paper/steel targets, you will never have a need to dump mag after mag. I've used mine hunting big game, varmints, paper and those little fun containers of tannerite. It's solid enough to have fun with but it's design and performance is worth the caution you have to take. I say roll with the TBAC.

OK, so I was finally able to get some range time with both the 30PS and the Specwar 7.62. From what I can tell, both cans are equally accurate and repeatable. Obviously the 30PS wins in the weight and size department, however that also makes it noticeably louder. Both of these suppressors have their uses and both are good to go from what I can tell. My testing included several on/off cycles and swapping both cans around between 4 different rifles.
