I'm looking to pick up a 30-06 for hunting elk this fall, and for some reason I keep coming back to this rifle. It just came out a few months back at SHOT, so it is hard to get a feel for how this is performing, based on feedback.
Even the SH search engine only showed 2 entries...and mostly folks were saying how ugly it is! Personally, I don't think it looks that bad...certainly unique.

I understand the bolt has issues clearing the odd comb shape...but the manual indicates it clears OK if you follow their directions. A scrape is the result of not following them.

So...who has this? How is it shooting? Is it too new to tell?

I'd like to keep my purchase under $600 if possible, and I got to tell ya a magazine fed, guaranteed 1 MOA, 5R rifling, adjustable trigger from a good company is pretty compelling. I think they took some chances with the styling, and I don't find it offensive.

Another option I'd look at is the Tikka T3 Hunter or Stainless Lite. My Tikka in .223 is simply fabulous...and most of the same options listed above apply.

Who's got the goods?
Thanks!

I saw this and thought it was neat but a little too gimmicky for my needs. I bought a Sako quad awhile back, it is an excellent rifle but barrel switching is just too much hassle for me personally, but whatever jiggles your jello!

I'm actually starting to sway over towards a Savage 114 American Classic. It is just a bit more, and the Accutrigger seems like a solid factory setup. Classic styling...and I can always consider a Manner T3 for the future!
