Just in case you had considered getting a T/C venture thinking it was basically an Icon with budget furniture and no milled rails, it's not.

I bought one in 300 win mag knowing that the stock sucks but that I could later upgrade it by buying one from the people that are making them for the Icon (Manners, Hogue, etc) but I just found out I was not right about that. There is enough different about the action that the Venture will not fit in an Icon stock. Sooooo I doubt we will see any drop in replacements any time soon.

Now that's not to say the Venture is a piece of junk. So far reports of the accuracy are very good.

I bought this rifle only for Elk, I felt that my 270 WSM was a little on the light side. And since our tag system in AZ means that Elk is not an every year hunt I didn't want to spend $1000 on a rifle I wouldn't use very often. And maybe the the stock it came with will be just fine. I just wanted to let anyone that was thinking like I was know that is not the case. If you buy a Venture, you will likely be stuck with the crappy stock for a long time.
