T1G in Memphis

Re: T1G in Memphis

I've been there a few times for annual training - we haven't been trained by their staff, we just pay to use the house and ranges. The shoot houses are decent and good for us since we can do explosive breaching on them. They have several different ranges, an off road and road track, and looks like they have built a container/VBSS mock up. The only negative fo me is being near West Memphis, AR. I think I would rather endure a year at a remote ice station than anywhere near that slum.

Re: T1G in Memphis

It is a training facility that has a few different venues. I have met most of the guys running the place some time or another and found all of them to be extremely professional and knowledgeable guys. Most of the guys working there have a SOF background. Hope this helps you out.

Re: T1G in Memphis

I have been over there several times being as it's in my area.
T1G is the area formerly known as Olive Group Training. It was bought out and placed under new management a little over a year ago.
Steve Reichert was the manager until a short time ago when he moved over to HCT ( High Caliber Training).
Steve's credits are well known in the business. Most of them are part(s) of Discovery Channel's new Sniper shows.
Shooting houses, explosive breaching, short and long range shooting areas are just part of it.
They also have a very well thought out driving track with counter level corners (wet and dry) and the ability to shoot port and starboard throughout most of the driving areas. Then drive into a full 360 deg pit where vehicle attacks can take place.
As for long range, they have a 1000yd UKD range followed in line with a 1000yd KD range. If need be, there can be an area to shoot from where you could go out to 2200 yds.
They have just finished up their Afghan village. From what I can recall they can set up Sniper initiated assaults from the current MOUT area into the Afghan village so the assaulters can get it on.
I'm supposed to get back over there in the next two weeks for a few things so I'll see if I can post up some pictures.
PS...there is quite a bit more available including a drop zone, ship take down area and all the 18D certified soft tissue stuff.

Re: T1G in Memphis

not sure which t1g location they will be having their annual silencer shoot at , but AAC (advanced armament co) has announced their next silence shoot will be at a TIER ONE GROUP location

so as a civilian you could go there for that

Re: T1G in Memphis

The parent company of T1G (Cerberus) owns AAC, Remington, DPMS, amongst other companies.
Either NC or TN either makes good sense considering the facilities.

Re: T1G in Memphis

TEES no longer uses that facility. They have one in Ennis,Tx and are in the process of building another south of Memphis.
Not for sure, but I think Olive is gone as well. It was TEES first, then sold to Olive, who dumped an asston of money in it and expanded it. Alan Brosnan stuck around with Olive for a year or so and then left. I believe T1G bought it from Olive and is working alongside HiCal. It is a kick ass facility with alot of realworld scenarios available. Live fire from hi speed vehicles and actual IED's. Have not been there since T1G took over, but I heard they put even more into the facility.

All true. Owned by Cerberus Corp. now.
They have the funding to do almost whatever they want.
I will have some pics up after I visit the Afghan Village they are working on. Probably mid Feb.

As someone who has some idea what it costs to build and operate a facility like that, I think I can state with some accuracy that such a place cannot survive with civilian clients. There are simply not enough of them with the desire and ability to pay what it costs to run a place like that at a profit.

It's been tried.

However, I note on their web site that it is open to civilians. Classes open to civilians, though, won't be much of their business.

Re: T1G in Memphis

T1G does Military training and HCT does the civilian training at T1G's site in Crawfordsville AR just outside Memphis. The Afghan village is almost complete and we are installing fully automated target systems which should be finished by mid Feb. The AAC Silencer shoot will be held here at T1G.

Re: T1G in Memphis

Here is the scoop
The facility located in Crawfordsville Arkansas started off decades ago as OMNI Explosives. Then Tactical EXPLOSIVE Entry School (T.E.E.S.) took over the small parcel of land from OMNI. OMNI moved down the road and T.E.E.S. built their brand. A few years ago Olive Group North America bought T.E.E.S. & the site. They also bought the surrounding property so they could build a site for their new company Olive Security Training Center or O.S.T.C. . OSTC ran their operations with some good results until a number of things happened in the industry & overseas that saw a majority of the business dry up overnight. O.S.T.C. site improvements were put on hold and the facility was put on the market. While O.S.T.C. was building their brand & site T1G was brought into the industry by its founder & retired Marine Steve Reichert. Reichert wanted to build his facility in NC, however after 3 years of working on multiple land development projects the O.S.T.C. site was for sale. By then T1G had a great reputation in the SOF community even without a facility. T1G acquitted the assets of O.S.T.C. in 2009 and immediately started site improvements & modifications to meet the demands of their SOF clientele. Also in 2009 T1G started a new brand strictly dedicated to civilian and law enforcement called High Caliber Training or HCT. T1G handles all DoD training and HCT Civ/LE. T.E.E.S. has surfaced again recently as Tactical Energetic Entry School, in Mississippi. The acronym is the same but they had to change “explosives” to “Energetic” since the branding rights for Tactical Explosive Entry School were sold to Olive Group.
Those interested in training at the Memphis site can do so under HCT.
