I've been shooting mainly prone in sand lately and I'm regularly annoyed that after 2-3 mags, my bipod legs are 2+ inches underground and slide forward/around to where I can't load them properly which in turn makes my position feel off and is just annoying.
I looked into getting some pod claws but they are out of stock everywhere. I don't want to shoot off the ruck and homebrew fixes like cardboard or foam make the surface either too slick or not stable.
Was looking at the TAB mat and was curious if it would be thick/sturdy enough if folded a few times and placed under the bipod; I actually don't need it as a shooting mat but was more interested in how it would fare as far as getting traction with the bipod and keeping the legs from digging into the sand even through the mat.
