Shot a little more then usual today and was having a big problem with mirage off my suppressor. So, I am going to get a TAB suppressor cover.

I am not sure what one to get. Looking for opinions of people who have them. My first thought was the SAS2. But I think I would have a problem getting it on and off with the ratchet system.

I would get the sas3 so you can slide it back onto the barrel, so the can will cool down faster. Thats the one I have, I like it a lot.

I have one ... As Lowlight and dt00083 has mentioned they are great and really cut down on the mirage from the can.

Re: TAB Suppressor Anti Mirage Shield help

When in doubt reach out to Tony Burkes ("TBurkes" here on the HIDE) and he can give you the best option for the can you are running. I have used and abused several TAB covers and they make a huge difference in the mirage as well as protecting you and gear if you make a transition from say a 10.5" M4 to your pistol and let the rifle hang or push it around your side. Scars may be cool but suppressor burns and melted gear suck when you are trying to work. The covers are primarily for mirage management on sniper rifles but they come in handy for my little rifle. You will certainly be pleased with your TAB suppressor cover.

Take care,

Danel

Re: TAB Suppressor Anti Mirage Shield help

I just recently purchased an SAS 1 and i really like it. It works really well. The only thing i noticed is that i sometimes get a mirage from the barrel. I plan on adding a quick clip to my TAB cover so i can attach a barrel mirage shield if needed. I just hope it works.

What he said, it works great even on those really hot days in July/August.

Re: TAB Suppressor Anti Mirage Shield help

Hey guys, thank you for the kudos and support.

HOWEVER: please do NOT take 1/4" off of the length of your suppressor when placing your order for a can cover.

We began taking 1/4" off of every cover about a year ago or so. The reason was to keep the cover from being exactly flush with the end of the can to keep the inner material from being beat up so much.

We do the 1/4" reduction on the SAS1, and SAS3 models. The SAS2 models, with the shock cord inside, are still made to the length of the can to allow the shock cord to overhang front and back.

Cookie, I've added the 1/4" back into the over all length that you provided in your order so don't worry it's all good.

Thanks again to everyone for your support and continued business.
