I have a tac 30 and had it at the range yesterday the first 20 rounds cycled fine then the firing pin was not being charged on the cycling of the action
I had to fire the rifle put it on safe then cycle the action to get the firing pin to charge .

Called stiller and there is a latch that must be dirty and this is what pics up the firing pin for charging .

    Recommended cleaning with Lighter fluid

Thought others would want to know .
    I will updat later

Is that latch you're referring to the sear on the trigger assembly? Sounds like the trigger is either very dirty and/or you need to adjust the sear engagement.

What kind of trigger is on it?

Those who have a lot of experience with Stiller (and/or other actions) is this common?

Nothing wrong with stiller actions. I have several and they are top notch. I would guess its the trigger, but i really dont know. Stiller will make it right if there is in fact something wrong with there action. Lee

I've been running a SS Viper from stiller on a BR rifle for four years. I have over 4,000 rounds down range with it, no issues. It cocks and fires like a standard 700/Tac30/Tac300 or 99% of the other receivers out there. It probably has a small amount of trash in it. Remove the bolt and see if the sear bar will spring back up when you push it down.

Thanks for these additional testimonials. I had heard that Stiller was good, but this situation gives a little doubt to someone not familiar with them. It is good to know they stand behind their product.

i would bet money that there is absolutely nothing wrong with the action or firing pin and the problem 100% is the trigger adjustment.

Re: Tac 30 Stiller action would not recharge firing pi

To be claear I was trying to make a post for others infomation not to bash stiller at all , this appears to be a trigger issue

Update . as I removed the bottom metal I heard a distinct snap this was the pin moving up that engages the firing pin

so it appears not a dirt issue " but I will still be cleaning the trigger with Lighter fluid" more of a possible fit issue .
I opened up the area aroind the trigger and cleaned the stock thuroughly.

    not an issue ..

The support from Stiller was A+++++

I will be getting another one day Stiller
