correct, class 3 as well

Re: Tac ops rifles

The internal threads are the same, class 2 or 3. The external, male threads are what change to give a different fit. Class 2 is a standard fit, Class 3 is a tighter fit and prefered for suppressors. There's only about a .0015" or so difference between the two.

Re: Tac ops rifles

thanks william. i had a barrel made and i sent the specs that YHM has listed to the barrel maker.

http://www.yhm.net/store/media/308.pdf

and they said all of their threads were class 2. not knowing what that was i referred to the YHM site and got that drawing. i will know in a few days what they did i guess. can you tell from that drawing what class is illustrated?

Re: Tac ops rifles

so i guess i gotta ask. if the barrel maker did it to his regular specs which i took as being class 2, will my YHM flash supressor/QD mount have any issues? thats why i sent the specs. but i felt like the were just gonna do what they usually do. my last words were "im not a machinist. those are the specs YHM has on their site and ill leave it up to you, you are the professionals." and now im starting to have a queasy feeling in my gut

Re: Tac ops rifles

The internal threads stay the same. The barrel threads are what change. If the barrel was/is threaded per the specs it'll be fine. I've done it both ways with zero issues.
