Well, the wait is just about over. I just got the call from Mike, and my X-Ray51 is just about ready to ship. I am so looking forward to seeing this thing in the flesh and getting it to the range. I will definitely post pics when it gets here, and hopefully will have a comprehensive range report when it gets warmer outside.

You can't go wrong with a Tac Ops. I love mine and my second one is almost done. It would be the last rifle I would ever sell.

Can't go wrong with a Tac Ops? Don't make me laugh! You can go wrong; really, really wrong. I see your already on the path. You already have one Tac Ops, yet you ordered another. I would say something is wrong. You need to order more

I am afraid to call Mike to see how my .260 build is going (Mike told me to call him at the end of Jan.). The reason for this is I might order something else. I'll give you an example. I ordered a Tac Ops Echo 51 and I couldn't wait; I talked to Mike again. Bam! another rifle on order. That's not all!

When I took delivery of these rifles I found out I was relocating to Texas for work. You guess it I ordered two suppressors for the rifles. But I couldn't stop I had to order another rifle, so I ordered a .260. You would think I could stop; it's just not possible. Once you shoot these rifles you want more.

I called Mike again and Bam! I ordered another rifle. This time I ordered a Green Hornet. As you can see something has totally gone wrong. I can't stop! I am a Tac Ops addict! It looks to me, your on your way to being a Tac Ops addict too.

P.S.- hope it was a little funny; that's what I was going for. Also, I think I will call Mike and order something else these week

Uh, Jamie, you know if some of your apparent boatload of cash were to fall off a truck in front of my house, I wouldnt complain.

    Just sayin'

And, I too agree the products that Mike puts out there are incredible technical achievements. Congratulations on nearing the end of your own wait!

I save my funds for my toys. I dress like a bum and I drive a F150, plane jane, truck. If you met me, you would see a regular guy dressed very poorly.

Well, hopefully mine has hit Birdsong's and will be here before the end of the month. If I don't get it before my kid is born in April it's going to be a while before I get to shoot it... Oh the agony!

It looks like there's going to be a lot of new TacOps porn on the internet soon...!

There's nothing better in the whole world than holding our baby in your arms. I mean your Tac Ops; just kidding! A whole new world awaits you with your new baby. People can never understand the feeling of having their own children, until they actually have their own children. You will feel so much joy. Enjoy this blessed moment in your life and cherish for as long as you can.

    Best wishes,

    Jamie

Now go order another Tac Ops before the baby is born; children cost a lot

Thank you mate, and of course you're right. I'm already daydreaming of teaching the boy how to shoot with it. No doubt he'll want one of his own... Hey, that's a good reason to call Mike...!

I can see this vicious cycle starting in my life. It seems to be the only way to help get through the wait process. You call him up to see how it is going and to make yourself feel better, you order another one.

Waiting on a Tango right now but I got a bad (or good depending how you look at it) feeling that a green hornet is next in line.

    Is there a Tac-Ops anonaymous?

    Congratulations on your X-Ray Palmik!

    Re: TacOps X-Ray51 is ready

I've played with a green hornet when I was at Mike's office. Who'd have thought a .22 could be so completely menacing!?

Chubby-thanks for the congrats. It's going to be a busy 2011.

it is tough having both a baby and a Tac Ops. Owning a Tac Ops is like having an extra family member you need to spend time with...

    Re: TacOps X-Ray51 is ready

I'm trying to play out the conversation to get another rifle...

"Honey, I want to order another rifle from Mike today."
"Are you nuts? We have a baby on the way, we will need every penny when he's born."
    "Exactly!"

Hmmm.... I don't think she'll see the logic... women!

On a serious note, I'm toying with the idea of asking Mike if he could do a Tango for the .375H&H. Because it'd be a pure hunting rifle I wouldn't need sniper fill but would like iron sights on it. Maybe with quick detach mounts like Blasers... that would be sweeeeet!

Sounds like you'll need a trip to the "last wilderness" (Alaska) or the dark continent to really employ that rifle as it should be done...

Got any clients in either place? Do I smell "business expense"? LOL

    Hi <span style="font-style: italic">palmik</span>,

A little premature, but congrats on the new X-Ray and welcome to the Tac Ops Brotherhood. I bet you can't wait to mount your scope and head to the range. I know that <span style="font-weight: bold"><span style="font-style: italic">my Tac Ops X-Ray 51</span></span> was the catalyst for your X-Ray. You'll have to fly out to L.A. and shoot with me, Rescigno, <span style="font-style: italic">MicronuT</span>, <span style="font-style: italic">EventHorizon</span>, and some of the L.A. TO owners soon. It was a beautiful, crisp 63 degrees in my neighborhood today, hehe! Evil "Tac Ops OD" Green-T and Black-T teaser below.

Very nice Keith. Is that an AFAR rail you have there? I need one of those. As for rings, I am gonna go with American Rifle Company 35mm rings, bc I am gonna mount a Vortex Razor on top. Took a lot of thought, but I opted that route instead of the originally planned Nightforce.

Family obligations permitting, I intend to partake in those FTR matches as often as possible. </div></div>
The matches are only every other month, and they aren't dedicated F-T/R matches. They are actually F-OPEN, so we're shooting our .308s' against 6mm, 6.5x47L, .260s', and 7mms' - some of them flat bottom stocks in mechanical rests. But the right driver having a good day behind FGMM 175s' and a Tac Ops can give the 6.5x47Ls' a run for their money.

Thanks Mike. And yes - that is indeed and AFAR BT28. I had two done in Tac Ops OD Green-T w/Black-T Screws & Nuts, and one done in all Black-T, but I'm going to trade Tyler my Black-T BT28 Rail for his Tac Ops OD Green-T Rail so he can have a Black-T Rail with Tac Ops OD Green-T Screws & Nuts.

I saw the M3 Rings in 1.0", 30mm, 34mm, and 35mm at SHOT. Very efficient and interesting design, although the aesthetics take some getting used to. <span style="font-style: italic">EventHorizon</span> and I had dinner and drinks with Teddy and his business partner at Paris. They both seem like good guys and I hope ARC does well. The Razor is a nice scope.

A <span style="font-weight: bold"><span style="font-style: italic">"Sierra 51"</span></span> eh? A great old school rifle designation but with an updated look and upgraded accuracy. I didn't see a date on the article but I'd say that was before he got his TacOps rifle. If I remember rightly, Tactical called it 'the Holland&Holland' of sniper rifles.

Hmmm. You are in a bit of a sticky wicket, my friend. I hope you're not a light-sleeper. If you are, once your son is born you probably won't sleep for six months or so, and your wife won't let you leave the house except for work. Can you say <span style="font-style: italic">"sleep deprivation"?</span> Your eyes will be bloodshoot, your mind will be at it the breaking point, and you wil be on the ragged edge. Jamie can tell you.

On the bright side, your Tango can always stay at my house - I'll even let it play with my X-Ray 51 at the range.

    Re: TacOps X-Ray51 is ready

When I worked on the TIS Rifle concept with GAP, the A3/A5 stock was not available, so I picked the A5 as closest stock to what I wanted. When I had TacOps build my rifle I had them use an A3/A5. Hence I like that rifle better now.

One day I will do another TIS Concept rifle and have it made with an A3/A5 stock.

These two rifles where built for different purposes
TIS was for field work carrying rifle long distances etc.

Tac51 was designed for LE Precision HRT type work.

    Both are great as designed.

Anyway you look at it either of the rifles mentioned is so much better than anyone who shoots them it does not matter which one you use. Cant they all be my favorites? LOL
