Are they called 4Runners or Hilux Surfs in NZ? Sounds like you had a Gasser engine right? Almost bought the 1KZTE from a friend a while ago.

Both Surf and 4Runner here. Japanese import ones are Surfs. Mine is a 1KZTE Surf, goes really well.

Lost a head yet? How much are they selling for there? Diesels have gotten scarce since 3/11 here.

I bought it just recently, the head was done 30,000km ago.
Prices here don't translate to US prices very well at all, we pay the "Island in the Pacific" tax on everything. Diesels are quite common, the 1KZ-TE is in a lot of vehicles so I have access to a lot of cheap spare parts.

I'm on the island that made them. Prices have gone up since I checked last. None in my prefecture, cheapest in this area of the country is 7,494.15 NZD with 83K KM
