I got my Lefty Underground Skunkworks (AKA Black Ops) Perseus in June 11 of this year and at that same time I also paid for a Thunderbeast 30-P1. I was trying not to shoot it until I got the suppressor but I am two and half months into that wait so I got tired and decided to take the rifle for a walk. This is actually the second time I shot it but the first time was just to test it to make sure it worked well.
I started loading for it last weekend with 168 GR AMAX. I used the Lock and Load Hornady gauge to check the length to the lands.
It was 2.820" to touch the lands so I backed it off to 2.810" and used my go to powder - Winchester 748 - I loaded 43.5 grains with Lapua Virgin Brass and CCI Match Primer.
I shot at 100 yards first to check the loads - I did two strings - one on the bottom is a ten round string and the one on the top is a five:
then I moved to 200 yards - I let the rifle cool and then zeroed the rifle. I then shot an eight round string on a 3" Shoot and See target:
I am impressed with what this rifle can do. It shoots way better than I ever could. I shot it on the Atlas with a rear bag in the prone position. The rifle is still very tight and will take some work to loosen her up and get it humming. But, I really don't know how much better this could get.
FYI: This is the one and only Left Handed Perseus in existence per Mike Bush. Got to give it to Mike and crew - AWESOME is all I can say.
