Anyone have good prefilled printable paperwork to help keep recipes organized? I really need to start getting stuff more organized. Maybe try to keep something alphabetical so I can find the info in a reasonable time.
I use excel to record all loads I create.
I too standardize each load in my head (bullet, case, powder, charge, primer) but was just thinking of creating a table for different loads to make it easier to check an old load even after many years.
So I do not have to look from here:
I use the acronyms of loads (like H75.56) also in kestrel. (Manufacturer+Grains.powder decimals)
After I have made some rounds of certain load, I put them in a container, be it anything, and name the container using masking tape and fine-pointed permanent marker.
I think creating a relative codename for each load might help to remember them and make it easier to mark the containers. After naming my 75gr load after a member here (no gay) I have no problem remembering it.
I use the MTM Handloaders Log. It allows me to capture all of my data and include the targets after I shoot. Midway sells them. If you like to use a computer, then spreadsheets are great. Good luck.
I write all the load details on the target for each charge and then take a picture of it, add the pic to an album on your phone of just that one barrels sizing information and targets. If you do it as you go you get a chronological ledger of what you did and its results followed by the next tests etc. You can see and track your progression and you always have it at your finger tips wherever you go.
I use a spiral notebook for each caliber. Record date and any reliant data it it. Cross reference range data to loading data. Cut out and tape in relevant targets. You can enter way more data then any prepared form.
