Rifle Scopes Taking off a US Optics flip cap Ocular side...

I accidentally laid my rifle over today and the flip cap broke off... Anybody have any solid suggestions on how to get one of these things off without damaging the finish? Seems like it's just stuck harder than hell, and I've been going back and forth about how to get the broken sleeve off without doing any damage. Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

Warm it up with a hair dryer.

Yep hair dryer and it's type III hard anodized really hard to hurt the finish.

Unless you are Wolverine, your fingernails are not going to damage the finish in any way. Work it a little at a time all the way around.

Unfortunately this thing is stuck on so hard I just about ripped my fingernails out trying to get it to even budge. I'll definitely give the hairdryer thing a try though... Don't know why I didn't think of that. Thanks fellas.
