Tall Bipod or Shooting Sticks

Re: Tall Bipod or Shooting Sticks

Shooting sticks are easy to carry and deploy while hunting. Just strap them down on your pack and then pull them out and in to position when you need them. It also lessens the weight of the rifle and doesn't effect the balance if you need to fire from an unsuported position.

The best set up i have found for walking around after groundhogs is the Atlas bipod on my gun and a medium tripod (strapped to my fanny back) from these guys www.precisionriflesolutions.com .
I like to use the bipod when ever i can, it is just more stable for me. But a lot of times you have grass or hills you need to get over so the tripod works great for that.

Re: Tall Bipod or Shooting Sticks

I've used the Harris 25C swivel (13" to 27") for several years yote hunting. Sitting it is just right for me (6'0"). Regularly take yotes at 200 to 350 yd off this setup. Very stable, gets you above the grass, quick deployment.
It is a little tall when collapsed for prolonged comfortable prone, so I take a 9 to 13 along for those times.

Re: Tall Bipod or Shooting Sticks

I have an Atlas bipod. I bought the leg extensions and stuffed a 18" long piece of 1/2" dowel rod in each one. I can go from prone to sitting with just switching out the feet for the extensions.
