"Walter Birdsong Passing
It is with sadness that we announce that Walter Birdsong, the creator of the Black-T and Green-T firearms finishes, passed away this morning. Our condolences go out to his family and we wish them all the best. Thanks Walter for everything you did and for the many years of support you gave the firearms community.

----------------------------------------

It is said that Walter Birdsong has two new colors of finishes, but I have not been able to find examples of on the web. I'm looking for pictures of Tan-T and Brown-T.

I have already seen Mr. Birdsong's Green-T and I own a weapon coated in Black-T. But before I invest multiple months of waiting time and hundreds of dollars on Mr. Birdsong's excellent finishes for my rifles, I'd like proof positive of these colors.

Does anyone own a firearm with either Tan-T or Brown-T coating that can post pictures of it? Or does anyone have pictures of those two colors that they are willing to post?

Thanks!

Re: Tan-T and Brown-T?

Where did you hear that he was doing a tan or brown color? I would love to know as well. I have a pistol refinished in black-t and it is awesome

I've seen no physical evidence of this but here are the claims:

I will try to go by his place and get some. I only live about 15 min from him and do need to go by and see him.

Re: Tan-T and Brown-T?

He does alot of our pistols. We have one in the tan - will try and post a picture later in the day.

RIP

Thats correct. Walter is gone, so condolences and respects to his family. Fortunately for us and the many agencies that use Birdsong-treated equipment Birdsong will continue to operate under Walter's son.

Re: Tan-T and Brown-T?

Walter and I were very good friends. I will miss him terribly.

Re: Tan-T and Brown-T?

Never met or spoke to the man but his work speaks volumes about him. I have a fine example of that. I send my condolences to the family.

Re: Tan-T and Brown-T?

Had several long conversations with him on the phone (where there any other kind with him?!). Sorry to hear he's gone.
