TaNi 625 Brake from Italy

I have my Tikka T3x CTR set up as a hybrid hunter, the 20" barrel is handy and with a can its reasonable. However I wanted a brake that would be effective for steel comps, or field hunting to mitigate muzzle rise.

Scoured around and found a video on Youtube of a brake made in Italy, the profile is a great match to the CTR barrel and it was along the lines of what I was looking for. So I contacted the manufacture and put one one order. Took around 10 days to arrive at my post office.


The brakes are actually cut for an RPR, but the fit is good on my 260, it comes with a tension nut that is also ported just in case some gas sneaks back through the threads.

The brake has two large ports that are very effective and one small port at around 2 oclock. I did not ask the manufacture about this port, but from reading, I guess it is supposed to counter the reaction of the bullet twisting through the bore. As you can see there is only a tiny gap from the edge. I am sure I could work the brake to have it index further down, but it locks up tight.

I took it to the range and put a box of prime through it, I can say that it is very effect. The rifle stays put, virtually no recoil. However its LOUD as hell. I have been spoiled shooting with a can indoors, so a little gas up the nose and compression was a quick reminder why I got a can. In the field, off a tripod or positional, it is usually a non issue.

Looking at this frame pic, you can see that the gas ejects straight to the sides and the tiny jet upward, virtually no recoil.

In the end, I liked this brake. The point of impact was pretty close to that with my supressor and the price is about half of something of the same quality here in the US.

If I shot a suppressor I'd get the hellfire brake as it is designed to swap from the brake to the suppressor and back.
