Hard to have sympathy for the stupid. It's not the tannerite's fault. Nor was it Ford's fault when the truck got wrapped around a tree.

I too had a fun, and rather educational, experience with Tannerite. 1 pound in the center rack of a retired mini-fridge, door taped shut.
~75 yards away.... Yeah.... After the shot, we had to take cover because shit was flying and some actually landed behind us!!

Feel awful for the guy or anyone anytime something like this happens but holy shit ... What could go wrong literally using explosives to blow up a lawn mower including you know ... the blades ... from 43 feet away with no cover or obstructions between you and the mower/blades ... ?

Tannerite and binary exploding targets in general are so over rated. I do get the fun factor and all and how it kinda makes you feel like a kid again, but the pathological obsession over it is pretty retarded. It's also hilarious how people use like 100 lbs of the shit and not even knowing that once you go past like 10-15 lbs. of it, you're just wasting it because not all of it can properly detonate.
What about the fellow that put 100lbs in a dumpster on his property and set off the alarms at the nuke plant. IIRC he was charged with destruction of his own property.
Yeah, adding more past 15 pounds definitely still adds noticeable power to the explosion. There may be some diminishing returns but 25 is still much better than 15, 50 much better than 25, 100 much better than 50, etc.
Personally only put 1/2 pound loads in big stuffed animals. Minimal damage to stuff around them but maximum carnage to the stuffed animals.
I've only shot tannerite once, and I can say that, half-pounders turn a good size pumpkin into a nice orange mist.
