We tried a smartphone with dad just too much even when turning everything off just confusing for him. He loves the bluetooth in his truck so a basic flip phone with bluetoofs is all we need. The ones for sale on Verizon have really bad ratings.....has the simple flip phone just gone bye bye? Wondering if anyone has looked for a simple phone for their parents like I'm doing....thanks for any suggestions.

Don't know if that will help but wanted to share just in case.

My local smoke shops still have Tracphones with flip-phones included inside. Don't know if they are old stock or still being manufactured. One thing is certain: They are still in circulation.

I used to be one of those hard-head types who just went by with an old beater and did not upgrade. Not that there was really any need to since I can do all my Internet stuff on my laptop. But job needs facilitated my going into the smartphone scene. It does make a lot of things like reading and posting in the Hide a lot more convenient. LOL. As well as Google-mapping routes on the road, though if I am assigned to a truck I still have to go by my commercial GPS. But, now, this LG phone is as essential a part of my EDC as my knife and CCW pistol and ammo. Wouldn't/couldn't go anywhere without it.

This is great! Just called them and the simple phone is bluetooth capable.....looks like good coverage where they are too. Thanks Lash.....see ya at JTAC sooner than later.

I can kind of identify with this.
My cell provider is telling me that my old flip phone is going out and I have to upgrade to one of these huge phones that texts etc. and I ain't liking it.
It took me years to figure out what I have and now the cocksuckers want to make me change horses in the middle of the stream.
I don't give a bueno fuck about texts.
Leave old dogs to lay in their comfortable beds. Maybe they don't want to move. FM

Been looking for a belt case for mine. Let me know if anyone has one they're willing to part with.....

I'm with your dad too. I'm tired of the damn smart phone. I want a simple phone that I hold in one hand, flip it open to take a call, and shut it to hang up. Today's phones are the equivalent of the 'beeper' of the 70's. You feel cool until you realize you can't unplug. I can't hardly get out in the sticks where I don't have a signal. I know I can just shut it off, but darn, I miss the days of keeping a dime in your shoe just in case you had to make a call.
