A while back I got a Remington model 700 sendero (not the the SF2, the older Sendero). I cant find ANY info on it. Can you tell me what its worth, what its accuracy potential is, whether or not its worth building up, etc. I dont know the round count, its a .300 WM. seems to be in perfect condition.

Its in an HS Precision stock with the aluminum bedding block and the spider webbing.

I can post pics a little later.

Re: tell me about my Remington Model 700 Sendero

I used to own an old Sendero in 7mm mag. and it shot very good. I haven't seen one that didn't shoot good.

Well a 700 actions sells for $400 and up.The stocks are $360.I would shoot it and see what it will do just like it is.

Re: tell me about my Remington Model 700 Sendero

if it is in good shape with a low round count there isnt any reason why you wouldnt be able to sell it for 8-900.00 but most of them i have seen shoot very well

Re: tell me about my Remington Model 700 Sendero

I would shoot it. Of the Sendero's that I have been around, they all shot well with the exception of one. But that seems to be the exception rather than the norm. Without much load development, I had some 240gr SMKs shooting in the 0.6 MOA range and and the slower loads shooting under 0.5 MOA.

A good friend of mine shoots the older sendero it does not have palm swells or a fluted barrel has alot of rounds down the tube and still shoots extremly well for a factory rifle.

300wm

He shot a 5shot just under 9in at 1000yds with 180s and it likes the tsx168 also.

If your smith has a bore scope, he could tell you if the throat is damaged or worn but even that won't tell you whether or not it will shoot. I had a Sendero SFII in 264WM that shot .5moa even though the first 4" of the barrel looked like a lunar landscape. If he is just looking at it, I doubt he could tell you much. You've already stated it "looks perfect." Put a scope on it, buy one box of FGMM 190smk's and see what you've got. I'm sure that Remington turns out a dud from time to time but, every Sendero that I've had shot well under moa, especially if you hand load.

I paid 6 for it and im happy with it.

I need to get a scope on t and see what it'll do. I just wanted to know if it would make a nice build up.
