Terrapin X During Cold Weather and Fog

So we had a week long train up in the cold this week. It was a good test for all our gear for competitions coming up. We used the Terrapin X in 40-28 degree weather with no problem, until our last day. It was 28 degrees at 1000 and there was some thick fog downrange. I went to use the Terrapin, and it wouldn't range any targets. Not sure if it was the cold or the fog that caused the zero readings. I threw it down my pants pocket to warm up for 5 minutes, took it out , and was able to range 1 target before it gave me no reading 1 minute later.

Has anyone else run into this issue with LRFs?

I will say it was money this week, we were able to quickly engage targets from 100-1100 yards no problem, we had our kestrel linked , and it was spot on when it worked. It was neck and neck with the vector lrf we had.
