texas 3 gun?

anyone know of any houston area 3 gun matches coming up?

considering giving it a try but want to go observe at least 1 event first

There are quite few places in TX that are doing 3 gun matches. Tac-Pro, Geordie, 3 mils right and another club in the College Station area. There is also two big 3 gun matches. One was the Larue 3-gun that was done at Liberty Hill and there will be another one done by a few guys from the AMU staff that will be putting one on in Dec.

thanks..i have been a international level shotgun shooter since i was 13, have been on the us national team since i was 16.....i am 25 now and havent shot competition in over a year and its killing me!

dont want to go back to olympic shotgun bullshit though...so i want to go watch a match or 2 and see if i want to allow 3 gun to consume me lol

just a few details i was wondering...due to the power rating rules in 3 gun

1) what rifle loads do you guys use for your 223? i am going to run my 18" WOA spr upper with 1x7 and jp cooley break

2)whose rifle mag belt holsters do yall use?

3)any recomendations for 9mm pistol rounds? going to use my xdm 9mm to keep the handgun ammo cost down for now

There's a monthly 3-Gun match just west of Houston at the Impact Zone range every 2nd Saturday. That'd be this Saturday so come out and watch or shoot.

1) Inside 250 yards I use 55 gr. Montana Gold Bullets over BLC2 Powder. For further distances I use Hornady 68 gr. BTHP and 2520.

2) Blade-Tec with Tec-Lok. I like the Tec-Lok so I can quickly change out my pouches and their locations between stages.

3) I reload 147 gr. bullets with Titegroup powder. The heavier bullets with a fast powder have less felt recoil.
