just moved to the area, Houston. Do you have to be a member at Bayou to practice there? I hope to attend a match soon to get the lay of the land.

You do have to be a member to practice at Bayou, unless you are with a member. There are also dedicated days for the certain ranges.
However, as noted, the Palma Practice matches are open to the public, as are all the regular matches.
Come on out and shoot with us soon. 1k match on this Sunday, and a 600 yard match two weeks from Sunday.
