I sent in a set of SIG 10K Gen 1 bino's because the DOF wouldn't send to my Kestrel.

Well I got a package back this morning and instead of repairing mine they sent me a brand new set of 10K Gen 2's

I'm super pumped about the free upgrade and would like to say thanks for the great service.

While not Leica quality, the glass on your new Gen2s are gonna make your old Gen 1 look like a kid's dime store toy

I love my Sig Kilo 3ks. But... "Cheaper to replace than repair" is generally the hallmark of something that belongs in a clamshell package...

I have crappy eyes and differentiating between glass quality is basically impossible for me unless it's like Tasco vs ZCO, but I did kind of grow fond of the blue tint, I'm sure I'll get used to this tho.

Something not clicking with the electronic components on an older legacy model would not likely be "repairable" anyway.
Even if the 10K Gen II came in a clamshell package I wouldn't care since it punches WAY above it's price point. Even the Gen 1 ranges better than a lot of units costing 2 or 3 x as much.

I'm not schilling for Sig. They constantly piss me off with their tendency to have their customers beta test all new firearm models.
They do however seem to have their shit in a sock when it comes to their electro optical line.

I am no fan of Sig but in the field my Sig Kilo 2200 range finder walks all over two different Leicas (regular and a set of binos) of my hunting buddy’s (LEO former swat sniper) in ranging while hunting. I am often handing him my Sig to get a range.

The only optic I have had replaced instead of repaired was a Vortex Crossfire. No doubt the packaging was more expensive than the scope.

I've only played with the Vector X in a store. Complaints, buttons are not very friendly to push (maybe get used to it). Display is blinding bright and allegedly not adjustable.

Glass seems about equivalent, others seem to report the ranging capability is similar.

Last week I ran a 1 week class with some of the training done at Joint Base Elmendorf Richardson's Pedneau range. One of the guys was running a new set of the Vectronix with and without the extenders. Since we were on a KD range, we were only using the glass for spotting but we did play with the LRF on it and my Sig 10K-G2 against objects deep into the impact area of the range complex.

When compared side by side, the Vectronix were more clear however the Sigs weren't shabby at all. Ranging crap on the hill sides and ridges shown down range in the pic below (way further than we would ever try to throw a bullet) showed that my particular 10K could slightly outperform that particular Vectronix in those conditions. Both used a tripod for stability while the air quality and visibility was superb.

I didn't feel under-gunned at all with the Sigs. If I had to stay on glass all day, I would likely appreciate the Vectronix glass a little more but for what I intend to use the Sigs for, I am happy.

Yeah, if Sig gets anything right it's a good chunk of their optics. They gave me a Kilo 8K when they came out and that thing has been fantastic.

Vectronix displays are adjustable in settings with 1-10 brightness and auto setting
