Started shooting Precision Rifle last year about this time. Started reading and testing guns and started reading here at Snipers Hide. I don't have the budget for a really good gun and do not intend to compete. So I started with a Savage 10 FCP SR and shot a few hundred rounds last year with a $250 Vortex Crossfire II scope. Then added an MDT LSS-XL Gen2 Chassis, Atlas bipod, Ergo grip, XLR Extreme Buttstock, Area 419 Hellfire Brake, and some other goodies.
Upgraded to MDT AICS magazine and added a Athlon Argos BTR 10-40X56 scope for this season. And I loaded my first bunch of hand loaded 6.5 CM using the Hornady brass from last year, 43 - 43.8 grs. of Alliant Reloader 26 under 147 gr. Hornady ELD-M bullets. My first time out this year and I zeroe'd my new scope with factory and then shot my first 25 rounds of hand loads.
147 gr. ELD-M's over 43.8 gr. of RL 26, Winchester primers, and once fired Hornady brass at 100 yards. Rookie shooter/rookie rifle reloader with a cheap ass home built rifle shooting sub MOA (consistently) out to 300 yards and I owe it to Snipers Hide and the excellent information and guidance. Not to be mushy but SH is the fucking bomb for folks who want to shoot precision and want to hear it from The Best folks.
Thank You, Snipers Hide. Thank all ya'll.
