Based on a test done by Optics Trade and posted to Youtube on the various levels of Pulsar thermal I am leaning that way. But Leica and Zeiss have new thermal monoculars as well.

It looks like the 38Q is about $2500 meeting what I can find a Zeiss for.

Does anyone know of another company that would have a similar product?

Mid-Range thermal imager. I don't need it to be a LRF as I have one of those.

I also like the Pulsar binos, but wow is that a lot more money.

And it’s an expensive hole! Best thing I could say is just go balls deep right out of the gate. It’s way cheaper in the long run bc you don’t stair step your way up. But as far as mid range goes, the Bering optics hogster line is getting really popular on the fb groups. You WILL want a 640res.

Truth spoken! Lol. While the Hogster and Super Hogster are awesome units for their respective price points, they are what I like to call “gateway thermals”.
They will get you hooked and then the next thing you know your are buying a higher end thermal.

For $3100 you can get a Bering Phenom. Really good image for the price. It has a 4 year warranty which is nice compared to most of the industry with the 3 year warranty.

I have a Phenom to scan with and a MK 3 on my rifle. Sometimes it seems like the Phenom has the better image than the MK 3.

I don't have feral pigs where I live, and I can only use them during the daytime in New Mexico. So I probably don't need the top tier stuff. That is why I wanted to look at the 38Q and Zeiss level things.

OP, you should have taken the blue pill.

I read the laws about night hunting in NM and it's allowed for unprotected species , such as coyote and feral pigs, as long as you have the proper licenses, written permission from a landowner, don't use artificial light and this is the big one, get in touch with/meeting the local game warden before going into the field.
The game laws are up to the wardens interpretation, so if your in good standing with the warden, you should be good to go.
Using a thermal in the daylight is practically useless, unless your hunting in the snow, where you have a good contrast in temperatures.
