OK. I see posts about truing actions etc.

Just one question. Once all is said and done, isn't it just the projectile travelling down the bore that does the job?

All the action does is put the bullet in the chamber.

Once the bullet has entered the bore of the rifle, isn't everything else moot at that point?

There are a vast number of possible variables involved in putting the bullet into the chamber. How far from/into the riflings, concentric, clearence? Is the bolt face square with the bore, and on and on.

Reducing those variables is the difference between a good rifle and a great one.
