Dropped off my Viper from CS tactical that I ordered on Friday, and my eotech and magnifier I ordered from SWFA on Tuesday. I am happy with both. As for my other post on the Vortex scopes, this scope does to have some sort of "hazing" on full magnification. Not as bad as the one I looked through at the store, but it is definitely crystal clear on the 6 power.

The eotech is simply amazing, I love it over the aimpoint comp m4s I had before. I like the ring of death.

I know I need a cheek riser on my m1a, but I think I should of gone with the rings that are the smallest height. These are the medium nightforce rings, I do have a sadlak mount coming, so the SA will go by-by. I ordered a Karsten cheek riser, but I really do not want to drill into the wood stock, and I have been having one hell of a time finding a used SA all black or urban camo stock to replace it with. I would love a JA, but I just do not have any coin left to spare, I have my $900 left over for the Viper PST when it comes out. That is about it.

I like the compm4s for one reason, you can leave it on 24/7. However I am not in Afghanistan fighting the good fight. They stay in the safe until I go out to the range or over to the eastern part of Washington to shoot varmints. I like the FOV on the eotech, honestly, there are many that will say otherwise, I just like the ring on the eotech. It is also more compact than the compm4s.

Battery life is really not an issue for me, to others it may be a life saving issue. I think it is just personal preference.

I got the eotech's for $850 shipped through SWFA, they price matched 2 competitors, and they also have a $50 rebate on both the sight and the magnifier, bringing the total cost to $750. Which is right around the price of a compm4s.

the xps2-2 is not NV capable, but I really do not need that, if you do, get the xps3, I think it runs $100 more.

Good call on not drilling into the wood stock. Id definately wait and find a SA poly stock..have you seen the OD stocks they just released?

Have you tried these?

Really simple but really good - not "tacticool" but the custom option mean you get what you spec/need.

or go with a Blackhawk stock pack and pad it underneath with foam to the right height?

Sa released them? I found one on ebay, I missed the auction for a new urban camo one for $115, but he guy sold me a new black with hand-guard for $110 shipped. I can't wait to get it.
