Hopefully this isn't perceived as a smart-assed response to the questions and remarks, asked and made by fellow members; Ewoaf, The Mechanic, Wirehand and Strange Days. My response is just a statement of fact.
The dark realm is full of devises of which the general public has no knowledge, Hense just because you or I have no knowledge of a certain devise, doesn't mean it doesn't exist!
Yes, there are situations where precise simultaneous firing is required and verbal commands are not sufficient.
Electronic synchronizing devises are out there, I've touched, played and used them. If you don't want to believe me, don't,remain ignorant.
If,however, your "google is working" look up WO/2006/104521 Synchronous Weapons Firing Systems. It can be found under the wording also.
This technology was around in the mid 80's . I even saw an article on it once, but have long since forgotten the actual publication. I think L.A.P.D. SWAT had such a devise too.
Again gentlemen, This is not in any way ment to be smart assed.
I've been away for a week or so, and I see that my previous postings have been deleted. Strange isn't it? Hense I haven't used the magic Buzz word.

Re: The continuing saga of simultaneous firing

You don't need a machine to synchronize fire by any stretch of the imagination... its called a command fire drill and is done over and over and sounds like a single round. No machines, no voodoo, it's called practice and something very necessary with shooters who support dynamic entry and the what not.

Count down begins, sniper's fire on a specific number and the assaulters move on the next number. it's done all the time, and part of the normal course of business. These guys train for this shit, I know as I have been part of the training.

I highly doubt they knew they were going to need this machine and brought it in for this very occasion, especially since they are more than capable of doing it without the machine. Not to mention you have a brief honeymoon period before people can react, especially when faced with suppressed fire, which negates the need for machine.

give it a break,

We used to call that Lag time. Some were in 100ths of a second, others were called WTG's. (Walking Toe Tags)

Re: The continuing saga of simultaneous firing

LL, you forgot the use of funeral firing parties when seven guns must sound as one! Ready-aim-click.

Counts have been used to great affect since Medieval times. Consult the Book of Armaments!

How does it, uh... how does it work?

MAYNARD: Amen.
ALL: Amen.
ARTHUR: Right! One... two... five!
KNIGHT: Three, sir!
ARTHUR: Three!

Re: The continuing saga of simultaneous firing

Wow just wasted 8 hours of training time on the range! My team practiced sniper initiated assaults and command fire. Of the twenty or so time we went through command fire, only one did not sound like one shot. The entry guys asked several time if all four of us were shooting. All done with Mark 1 Mod 0 ears and trigger fingers...

I'll be damned when some electronic gizmo is going to "let" me put a round down range. Hell, can it aim and hold a Poweraide for me too...

I'll take a well-trained human hand on that trigger, thank you. Be fine with me it it's your's.

Re: The continuing saga of simultaneous firing

I agree. I remember practicing this so much at school, that we begin to doubt whether the other guy even fired or not!! Granted, it's something one must practice to remain efficient, but never the less, I'll take the human trigger finger thank you...............
