The difference between than and now…..why Americans take it.

- the key point being that the rural farmer/debtors who made up the greatest portion of the population were facing a life-or-death situation when the British Crown attempted to appoint their own to all the courts and other positions of authority. If your farm was foreclosed on in that time and place, it was virtually a death sentence for you and your family. Besides the very limited charity you might get from your neighbors and extended family, there was nothing to fall back on. Welfare and other forms of government benefits available to us now did not exist then. Hell yeah, people were ready to pick up arms and fight - their backs were against the wall.

We're not at that point right now. But the elites are forcing us closer to it all the time.
