I got my new AIAT today, yea I know, I went poor and got a fixed stock AT, but this gun is beautiful. 5 X 25 S&B, Spuhr mount........Harris bipod for now.........

Congrats, you'll love it! Great scope, I use harris bipods on mine as well. :)

What caliber? Opps, I can see it zooming in on the pic.. 308

No more one shot then clean, two shots then clean... I put 15 or 20 down do a quick clean and continue. I'll de-coppper as well. But, not going for the 1 shot, 2 shots, etc...

I went fixed as well. It was so much cheaper, plus the first thing I did was pull off the .308 barrel and put it away for my heir to enjoy one day. I won't be using it. So I wanted to keep the initial costs down. Always figured if I really wanted a folder I'd add the AX folder. The only time I regret getting the fixed stock is when I'm forced to pull the cheek rest because of it. But I've started pulling the barrel for cleaning, and I'm gonna make up some spacers to return the cheek rest to the exact position every time, so it's not a big deal to me.

And is it just me, or do folders not seem as popular on other brands of chassis out there? Like MPA, MDT, etc. Yet I used to catch myself looking down on non folding ATs for some reason prior to buying one.

    Yes, .308..........

Question for AI owners, do you follow the barrel break in instructions?..........or not?
No just clean it before your first range season and clean It when you get home. Then shoot this piss out of it until accuracy drops off.

also I think you can put the AX rear on a non folder if you want to. I think the Chassis comes apart in the same spot if it’s a folder or not if I remember correctly.

I've always thought that the fixed stocks made the entire gun a little more rigid, nothing to back it up, just my thoughts........

I followed barrel break in for a rifle years ago. 1 shot clean for 5, 5 shots clean for 25, clean every X amount after etc.

I then outshot that rifle with a out of the box savage 300 WM that had nothing but a bore snake through it out of the box. Haven’t messed with break in since...

Yea, I've got several rifles from some very well known builders, I've followed break in instructions for a couple, didn't for a couple more..........I really couldn't tell any difference.......

I followed the barrel break in, but it stopped smearing copper really fast. It was a very easy break in.

You don't have to say 'I went poor'. It's good money for a good rifle. I hope you enjoy your AT as much as I enjoy mine.
