I have heard good things about them. They seem a good idea if you can’t get out to the range or if you live in a country where firearms laws are repressive.

I find that just practicing trigger control while watching sight picture can get you the same thing on the real gun without the need for the laser.

I think it helps pretty significantly when it comes to handgun and shooting somewhat quickly, especially from retention. I had used one before advantageous when practicing firing from retention, where you are trying to get a good balance of speed and accuracy.
Also, with transitioning and rapid target acquisition, I think it helps also.

never used one of those, but my C02 pellet gun although lacking significant recoil achieves the same purpose in a city environment. plus I have results to reflect upon afterwards instead of trying to remember how a laser appeared.
