This one is with today’s haul piled on the ground. My 8y/o helpers mom cut him some slack and didn’t make him stack wood today.

20’s?

I still run in shorts unless really wet or howling wind!

?

And after that sitting by a woodburner would be awesome!!

Old school and I love a good fire in a wood stove.

This big one (white oak) came down at a friends house. DBH is about 50". Unfortunately, nothing is sawable for lumber as it grew leaning hard all of its life. You can see the offset pith in one of the pictures. The saw in the picture has a 3' bar and I'm about 30' up the tree. Splitting this will be a bear. If anyone knows a use for 4' diameter discs of white oak, let me know. Making it into firewood seems such a waste for something this big.

My boys and I broke out the splitter and took care of the birch I have been bringing home and pilling on the ground.

You can noodle the rounds into 4ths so you can then move the pieces around and/or to the splitter.

Jeebus thats a monster. Not many of those left around

Cut those rounds about 5-6” thick.

Sell em as table tops.

I would dearly love to have one or two to make a couple tables.

Wish I had em from my folks red oak that had to be removed.
64” across 10” above ground once down and measured.

@rope - where are you in AK?

I would buy at least one for $60.

Needed an axe for a costume.
Harbor freight (doesnt need to work) was $33 for a made in India axe.

Yeah. Let me get in touch with the folks I got mine from and see how many they have left and what it would be shipping wise for a large order to get em to me and then I will do the math for individual cost.

Once I have all that figured out I will start a new thread and post it here.
