Rifle Scopes Thermal rifle scope for hunting?

Re: Thermal rifle scope for hunting?

Yea... I want one too! If you find out what it is maybe somebody knows the cost. ACOG just came out with one, don't know any details on it either, just that it will attach to the ACOG.

Uhhh....did anyone else notice the cars in the background behind the hogs they shoot about halfway thru??? Talk about a horrible backstop!! (NOT saying I wouldn't have taken the shots but I CERTAINLY wouldn't have posted it to set such a poor example to newbs....just saying) MY ? is what caliber were they shooting? Those hogs went down hard but there was 0 noticleable recoil thru the scope.... suppressed too maybe?

Re: Thermal rifle scope for hunting?

I think if you go to their website, they have the scopes listed and if you read some of the comments under the videos on you tube, they also talk about what kind of sight they are using. I can't remember exactly, but it seems like the cost was 12-20K per scope.

Re: Thermal rifle scope for hunting?

Probably one of their sights they sell on the JagerPro website.

It doesn't appear to be a clip on. You can see the scope at the end of the video.

Re: Thermal rifle scope for hunting?

That looks very cool. Maybe in 20 years the prices on these will fall to somewhere near where optical scopes are now? Who knows...but man that looks like it would be a lot of fun to hunt like that. Mmmm bacon.

Uhhh....no. Do you mean the animals running in the background after a shot was made?

Re: Thermal rifle scope for hunting?

After having played with a few at my dept I can see where they could be useful under certain circumstances; they are not like the movies. Forget about seeing through stuff, that’s all Hollywood. Used from above, looking down, would be much more useful where there is less in the way of natural barriers.
