Well i think we should double check all sources and take a deep breath.
See something, say something? How many fruitcakes are going to start making calls about somebody they know who they think may be a fruitcake because they don't like them or know that they have gun(s)? Didn't something like this (rat out your neighbor to the gestapo) happen somewhere in Germany? The real questions will be what happens when the man shows up to someone's house due to a fruitcake's unsubstantiated accusation, and the person resists? Next question-does the man show up in their fancy APC with jack boot thugs? Will the man begin some type of surveillance or even try to confirm if the person is a threat? Lots of goons out there who see this as a blank check and can't wait to start kickin down doors. If it does go to a terrible extent and they show up at an innocent person's house who does resist, it will not be reported but quashed as some sort of "error".......but when word gets out, a cascade will begin.
For what it's worth, my mother was a Deputy Sheriff here in Ohio. She wore her badge with honor and dignity and I personally seen her chastise officers from other departments and agencies (she was off duty) who acted inappropriately while in uniform. I will support law enforcement so long as they remember the true scope of their operations.
