The CL is a very short scope. I couldn't mount this scope on a Ruger MkII 77 with standard rings. The chambered part of the barrel contacted the objective bell, on a 22" sporter.
Otherwise, crips optics, tactile adjustments and side focus. A really nice optic.
I've notice CDNN's inventory on these are slowly going down. Kahles is currently only selling their CSX and K lines (both $2K range), anything that is still on the market carries the full warranty, but when they're gone, you'll have to wait for more affordable lines to be released.
If you use or can use high rings for your project I think you'd be pleased.

Hi Pale Horse - I have the Kahles 2-7 and the 3-9. They are the closest you can get to Zeiss/ Swarovski in the sub $1,000. When I compare them to my other scopes (/ my friends scopes) I find them better than Sightron III, Leupold VX3, Nightforce... I do not see a difference with an older Swarovski, although it is possible that a better eye than me might.

As far as glass is concerned, I think that the CDNN opportunity is an amazing deal.

my main hunting rifle over the last 3 years has been a Khales 3-10x50 Multizero with the German #4 reticle

To me it's a definite step up from a Ziess Conquest and on par with various Swarovksis I have compared it against, actually had the Khales and an American hunter Swarokvski at the same time and kept the Khales. If you can get the #4 reticle they are definitely better at very low light.

Glass is good enough to read license plates at 300 yards at night and can make deer show up that I can't see with my naked eye.

The MZ feature works great too..
I have 1, 2, 3, 4 and 500 zeroes
I can also get between those yardages

How's the eye relief compared to the conquest and others?

Definitely check out the samplelist
that's where I got mine from and SWFA is definitely on my "good guy" list!

eye relief is consistent through all power ranges and not at all finicky with regards to eye position and getting a good view through the scope

To add to my previous post,
I picked up a K312 from the Sample List, $500 off new price, couldn't be happier. Just a stellar scope and great service by SWFA.
