I have known quite a few folks that were told "join the military or go to jail". Many of them turned out to be lifers. All they needed was discipline and direction. Imagine that.I am okay with the waivers, too many people getting busted for non violent or stealing crimes in our country over the last 2 decades, the “justice” beast has fed too much and has made too many things a crime and prosecuted too many people and not enough of the right people.
Not a lifer but was given that choice as well. I have no issue with wavers depending the reason but drugs an such, tells me that person needs a out when they can't handle something.I have known quite a few folks that were told "join the military or go to jail".
Might be now, but in the 60's/70's that was not the case. Many a judge an some LEO's suggested it to many, having run in's with the law over small issues that if not stopped would have lead to worst problems. As for the "Join the Marines or go to jail" stuff, that is non-existent.
^ iirc, lsd gets stored in your fat cells and can come out at anytime.
Yeah, that's definitely a development following the end of the draft once we went to an all volunteer military force. We as recruiters were strictly prohibited from getting involved in any court case.Might be now, but in the 60's/70's that was not the case.
