Re: This sucks!

there are certain jobs that your comic does justice, but crew chiefs and cops get fucked. We as Crew Chiefs don't lay in puddles, wade through shit, or eat snakes but we deffinately put our time in..... raining, snowing or anything else, we are out there dealing with the damn planes, all who have their own personalities, and tend to act like three year olds who just dont want to act right. but for all the nonners (people who don't work on the flightline) yeah that about somes it up

Re: This sucks!

I was a flight line guy too. Worked engines on F-16's. Did my time in the shit weather and 12 hr shifts wearing chemical gear. Playing war games and wearing fuel soaked uniforms. You never get the fuel smell out of your clothes. What sucked was being the same rank and getting the same pay as some puke who worked in the finance office or handed out basketballs in the gym. They got to work in the air conditioned office and wear nice pressed uniform.

Re: This sucks!

Many folks that are in my line of work are prior military. It is fun to sit and listen to the war stories that come up. The Air Force Reservists catch the most crap from the Airborne or Recon guys, when they talk about going to drill and staying in "tents" with flooring and A/C. The airborne guy always hits back with the "tick check" moments after coming out of the field for maneuvers.

All that served get the same respect, except from those others that have served. It's usually all in good fun.

Re: This sucks!

All I know is that there was a Red Horse unit on my post. Every now and then we'd have PT tests on the same day. While I'm checking the watch making sure I'm still on pace, they're walking around kicking rocks still in their first mile. It was then I realized I made a poor decision to join the Army. Lol

Re: This sucks!

2 things I learned while in the AF.

#1 An Air Force base can be a lonely place on the weekends.

#2 If the US gets attacked on the weekend the Air Force will be there by noon Monday.

Aint that right use to do training operations with the AF, would start around 0700 train till 1700, AF would get their afternoon sit in their crew cab airconditioned trucks for an hour then leave.
