Hunting & Fishing This years whitetail with GAP rifles

I got a new GAP non typical in 6.5 SAUM on the friday before the rifle opener so I hunted the first weekend with my GAP 6mm Creedmoor and shot these two with 95 gr Bergers

Then got out sunday morning and shot 5 rounds to sight in the new GAP 6.5 SAUM. I took it out tuesday after work and shot 3 does from 250 yards to 30 yards with 130 gr bergers all DRT. 8 rounds through the new rifle and 3 of them killed deer. I love my GAP rifles.

Used my 6.5 Creedmoor from RP Rifles and sent a 130g Berger VLD hunter 3,000 fps to her spine (high shoulder). Dropped like a bag of rocks. She was 205 yards out, I think that has 2500 ftlbs of energy left at that distance.


No winter wheat this year on my families land, that made for a tough hunt for sure. Glad to have got this doe vs nothing at all! Big doe for sure!

Is that a Leupold 3-18? If so how do you like it?
