I just picked up a TC Compass .270 from my FFL today. However, I am having 2 issues with it. First, I wasn't able to install the bolt assembly as indicated on the user manual - pg 14 and 15. The bolt would not go all the way in and I could not get the bold in closed position. Second, as I was trying to install the bolt assembly, I pushed the safety to fire position and made the situation worse. Any suggestion on getting both issues resolved?

Hope you get it sorted out. It sucks when you follow the book and shit doesn't work. Might want to try re-reading the book and re-trying, maybe there's something you missed or misunderstood.

Found a video on how to recocking a decocked mouser style bolt action rifle on YouTube.
- tie a loop and pull the cocking piece back
- while holding the cocking piece back, engage the safety and turn the bolt shroud to cock the bolt

Now I am able to install the bolt assembly.
