Rifle Scopes Thorough Huskemaw Scope Review @L.R. Hunting.com

Re: Thorough Huskemaw Scope Review @L.R. Hunting.com

elk hunters show up to my courses with these. They seem to track fine and are clear. By the end of the day they realize the limitations of it though.

so you Captain Kick-ASS you dont like this scope. I watched the videos on it and thought it was impressive.. that being said I am still looking at the NF 5.5x 22 because it is 100 moa scope that will allow me to get to 1500 yards. but i was thinking if grabbing one for my small hunting rifles. Please tell me what you have found on them thanks..

Re: Thorough Huskemaw Scope Review @L.R. Hunting.com

not so much as "dislike" as it is "not preferred". A regular mil or moa scope can do more without having to buy a bunch of elevation caps for where ever you go. This scope is a solution to those who don't want to take the time to learn how. And there is plenty like that to sell a scope to.

jc,
The review was in the works before LRH was a sponsor of this scope. Also, the gentleman that did the review is a straight shooter. Rest assured the review is unbiased. I had one on my 7 STW but sold the rifle, and the scope when with it, as the buyer wanted the complete package .In my opinion, it is a very easy system to use, and gets a beginner up and running in no time. Never had a problem with repeatable tracking the entire time I owned it. There customer service was excellent. I banged up the zero stop threads on the turret, and sent the scope in to pay to have it fixed, as it was my fault. They sent me a new scope, no questions asked. You don't get any better service than that.

I personally know the man that did the review. He thinks he is super talented and has all the answers. I would take it with a grain of salt.

Re: Thorough Huskemaw Scope Review @L.R. Hunting.com

We are getting more and more calls for these scopes. The T.V. show/infomercial is working well for them. We get calls and e-mails like this pretty regular now.

I have a 7mm-300 WBY Mag, I had built and have had a Swarovski PH 3x12by 56 I bought from you guys and it works great.

You know me well enough to know that I would take shots that are very long.

Anyway, I have been watching best of the west on tv as well as other programs and watching them kill accurately out to 900 plus yards. Being an old fat man this sounds like what I need to start doing. Forget the stalk just whack where they stand. I like it. So...................

What to buy? Illuminated or not?

I like the idea of a yardage turret, but I like the idea of MOA also so you have the functionality of change of load as well as change in altitude, etc.

So.......................

What do you think?</span></span>------------------------------------------

We had initially thought that there would not be a market for something like this because of their pricing and because of Leupold's CDS (Custom Dial System) and Kenton Industries but looks like we were wrong.

Re: Thorough Huskemaw Scope Review @L.R. Hunting.com

i'm sorry....well no actually i'm NOT sorry......but the vast majority of hunters i know of are not remotely capable of doing a moon shot on game animals at 700 and 800 and 900 yards.....

they may got the Gucci gear TO do the moon shot, but are lacking the salt and wind doping skills

BR,

Keep in mind, taking the shot, is not the same thing as getting a hit and engaging the target.

This system is a joke. I had talked to the rep at the Hunters Ex. in FT Worth. If you lived in a place where the temp. never changed more than 10 Deg.up or down then it mite work but having to change the turret when you change elev. or temp is dumb .

Just use DA and your good to go MOA or MIL

Re: Thorough Huskemaw Scope Review @L.R. Hunting.com

Yep.

Getting to be just like magic golf clubs/putters, fishing rods/reels/lures/basscrap/etc./etc.

Make it sound good and market the hell out of it.

Get the new, amazing, easy to use accu-scopius.

It has been my experience that those un-willing to learn how to use a standard mil or minute set-up is equally un-willing to dedicate the time and effort to learn to dope wind or other factors - thus making the potential of a successful long shot a mute point.

Cabela's markets a similar yardage/caliber based adjustable scope. I think they base it on an "average" of bullet weights/velocities/B.C. to arrive at the markings. No extra caps for temperature or elevation differences. In my opinion not much worse than the Huskimaw... They probably both work just fine in the right set of variables.

If you put in the time to learn a standard system it is much more versatile.
