I'm thinking about getting a Mark 8 3.5-25 for my next scope. I'm looking for your opinion on the glass and quality of this scope. I don't care about the price or anything related to that. I just want to know what people think. Please only comment on this if you have used one or have one. I currently have USO's and A Nightforce ATACR as comparison. Thanks for your input.

Well, I'm going to be first and break your rule because I haven't owned or even used one. But, you should check out Killswitch Engage's Scope Tests (it's one of the Sticky threads at the top of the Scope section here). That scope performed very well as I recall. He puts them through the ringer.
The new one with the C2 turrets would be the way to go. The B "pinch" turrets leave alot to be desired. The C2 turret version has no illumination though. Glass is great, i've only fired a few rounds with one but i'd buy one if the price was right.
Question to those commenting on reticle thickness: were the units you used illuminated? Seems like as soon as you go away from illumination the reticles get thinner.
The Mark 8 is an amazing scope. However, after using the Mark 5 I just find the 5-25 hard to beat (optics, features, weight and price considered). Unless you really need the low end mag the Mark 8 offers I’d highly suggest the Mark 5.
As far as the turrets, as mentioned before the B(pinch to turn) serve their purpose but I’m a huge fan of the C(zero lock) style. Super crisp clicks.

I have a mk8 3.5-25. I shot with it this week on my Larue OBR and i am a fan. Tracking is dead on. Optically excellent. The mag range is awesome for my gas gun.
Absolutely top notch scope that can hang with all the alphas.
