What are your thoughts on these 2 chassis? Does anyone have experiences with them? Pros and cons?

Rifle would be for hunting and local matches. Nothing major.

Both of these chassis have always interested me (very different price ranges). Aesthetically, I like the look much better than a MPA or KRG (I like the bravo molded stock with Whiskey -3 rail on the KRG). I normally stick to stocks (Manners, McMillan, foundation) but went with an MPA on my last build.

ESS showed up, initial opinion is quite positive, I like it so far, I do have to do I little modifying to make the carbon forend work with the ARC barloc. Should be finished up with that tonight. Unfortunately my optic won't be in until Monday so no actually rifle time until after then

I've got 2 ESS chassis, they've been my match chassis last year and this year. No complaints, solid chassis and I like the ergos. Both are setup the same, 15" hand guard (one with a pic rail at 12:00, one without) with a pic rail up front at 6:00 for my bipod and the arca/rrs dovetail back by the magwell.

How about a picture? I’d love to see what issue you had with the barloc and how you fixed it.

I had to trim the back of the handgaurd and the inside to clear the barrel nut. The interior only needed I small amount removed as it would go together without trimming but definitely making contact with the barrel nut. Also with the carbon forend I had to trim the metal plate that is used to hold the carbon forend on. I didnt get any pictures of the trimming on the inside pieces unfortunately. You can see In this photo the area on the aluminum end cap I had to trim to get clearance with the barloc. I'll try and get better photos if you guys want

I plan on ordering replacement pieces now that I know everything works. I trimmed everything with my dremel this go around. With the new parts im going to mill them at work

Thanks for explaining what you did, that looks EXCELLENT!

Im a fan of barrel nuts, mostly because the DIY aspect is really enjoyable to me, and im cheap so they help save some money. It sounds silly, but i dont really like the look of the typical barrel nut, but your set up looks fantastic. I hope it shoots as good as it looks!
