How exactly does one go about painting a rifle, I have a savage 12VSS with a stainless steel barrel and a grayish polymer stock, I've been thinking of making it similar to marine digital colors (minus the perfect squares), any thoughts?

Wanting to know how to paint is not job specific.

Almost everyone here likes to know where your from. Just a thing here. Like TCA said nothing personal.
GG, need a little more details. Just Marine MARPAT (their digi pattern) colors? Or the pattern too? Are you looking for super durable? Some scratches ok? Access to any painting equipment? Wanting a DIY job? Or done professionally? (There is a guy on this site who is a bad motha when it comes to this stuff.)
And, not to be too picky, Marine is capitalized - either out of respect for The Corps, proper English, or for the familiar acronym Navy guys like to toss around.

Marine (I capitalized it, sorry, I happen to be one of those Navy guys LOL!) colors (not the pattern, nature doesn't have many perfect squares), I'm thinking a DIY job.
